A great doctor is a blessing. Obviously, he is a great doctor and surrounds himself with a great team. How wonderful they responded so quickly.

I agree--and being proactive in your care is also in your favor! Wishing you the best!

Love,
Debi (debster913)

Dear Norma, You are a great role model for how one should handle these issues. You are always in my prayers. Thanks, Brian

Norma,

Looks like things are moving along. Good letter ... and glad you received a response and action so quickly.

I pray that you get some answers with that appt. Your doctor sounds great to respond to your letter so quickly.

So, we're thinking about you! I'm assuming you're down there now. You're in my prayers.

My appointment is scheduled for May, God willing. I sent Dr. Cooley the CD that I had on the "right heart cath" that my cardio did this past July to review ahead of time, therefore, if he deems it necessary perhaps they can schedule this test over there. (Thanks to Kimmie for suggesting I do this! :))

There's no mention of surgery  therefore I am assuming that all we're doing is going up to & discuss & re-evaluate my situation.

As of this writing, I am feeling absolutely fine considering I ran out of the "revatio" about 2 weeks ago because my insurance company decided that their Rx carrier (Medco) was NOT going to pay for it any longer. So, as of Jan 1st, I had to change to Accredo & I'm still waiting for my cardio's office to provide the new carrier the Rx info & get pre-authorization. As of yesterday, the insurance had NOT received anything from my cardio's office. So my questions is, "where the heck is the urgency" on my cardio's behalf if my PH pressures are as high as he said they were! I get soooo frustrated with them!

Thanks again to everyone for your thoughts & concerns. I appreciate it so much!! :)

Please excuse my ignorance and I admit to it but it confuses me that some here have said that viagra and revatio are close to the same drug. Am I correct I have read that?

If so, why the hugely costly revatio vs. the nominal cost viagra?
If this is truly a stupid question, I apologize, but I have wondered about this.

You have my most sincere best wishes the wonderful Dr. Cooley will be able to provide the care you seek.

I understand that it is the same as viagra but I cannot swear to that. In fact, my DH suggested he go to our PCP & get an Rx for it & then give me the meds.......don't think this would fly though!! :):p

Norma Jean -

As you said, "Sometimes, one must take things into your own hands...... "

Remember, YOU can call your Cardiologist's office, ASK for the Prescription, Copy it, and send it on to whomever needs it to 'get the ball rolling'.

I've found that Office Staff aren't nearly as motivated to action or as concerned to make sure that the right information gets sent to the right people in a timely manner as I am when I want something done.

Push those buttons!

'AL Capshaw'

p.s. You could also get a FREE and informed opinion on the equivalency of those drugs by asking your Pharmacist, not to mention an almost immediate response.

Unfortunately Al, it's not that simple, if it were, I would have had that Rx to my insurance the same day! The doctor's office needs to fill out a questionnaire, sign it & fax it back to them along w/the Rx. They (ins co) wants to make sure that the form is returned from the cardio's office & no place else!

And you brought up a good point, I am fixing to call the pharmacy & ask them this very information! Thank you! :)
