Just spotted this forum, I have an extremely tawdry shirt but I'll need to dig it out. For now, here's a few WIP shots of my now 9 month old.

At three 3 days and still very full of endocarditis:

11 days, still full of infection:

Then after 14 days, this happened...

Luckily they evicted the chestburster and patched me up again. Ten weeks in:

I wanted to do something involving the scar for Halloween, about four months in (not that you can see it). Eventually came up with this:

Now it pretty much looks like it did in the ten week photo, maybe a bit feinter. Has anyone else tried attaching fridge magnets top their sternal wires? It's a good party trick.

I'll try and find my mega-tasty Hawaiian and honour the title of this forum with a shirt on photo... :)

You should see my Facebook album from the two months I was in hospital, equal amounts wrongness, gore and self-depreciation and photos expressly intended to put my friends off their breakfast, staying positive definitely helped me a lot!

Your sig is encouraging too, I'm not really suffering any lifestyle changes after 9 months (and I can still drink, yay!) but you're the same 45 years (!) after your surgery. That's pretty phenomenal!

Just keep in mind that by next halloween you will need makeup to make the scars more visible. They fade in time. . .

Of course, when you get OLD enough, just taking off your shirt scares the crap out of people.
