It's been 3 years since my surgery at Stanford. I think it took almost 2 years to recover and feel more or less normal again. I didn't even think of this yesterday. I guess that's a good thing.

Happy, Happy, Happy third anniversary! I'll second the motion that healing continues beyond the 6-12 months they usually quote. It may continue at a slower rate, but progress continues as time goes on. Glad to hear you're doing so well.
