Sorry for the delay. if you've read Hank's sticky post at the top of the forum, you'll know that our fearless leader and his first lady will not be able to attend this year's reunion. I am very sorry to learn that they won't be with us, but I hope there's still a great get together in St. Louis--former home of Our football Cardinals.
Here's the tentative agenda.
Wednesday, March 11: Valvers start the trek to St. Louis
Thursday, March 12: Dinner TBA to accomodate the time frame of those arriving that day.
Friday, March 13: Budwiser Brewery tour 10 am (see JimL's post below for information) FREE
Friday afternoon: St. Louis Zoo FREE If we choose to ride the zooline railroad, tickets are $5
Friday, March 13: Waiting on confirmation from QAS as to whether they will be able to sponsor the dinner meeting this year. If they can't, we'll make alternate plans for dinner.
Saturday, March 14: Noon riverboat cruise on the Mississippi River.
Individual tickets are $14; $7 for children. Box lunches and hot dog lunches are available if reserved ahead of time.
Box Lunch $8.00
Your choice of: Turkey, Ham, Chicken Salad and Veggie Sandwiches.
Included in your box lunch are Potato Salad, Fresh Fruit Cup, Fresh-Baked Cookie, Coffee, Iced Tea, Milk, Bottled Water or Soda.
Hot Dog Lunches are $4.00 a piece.
Included in your lunch is a Hot Dog, Bag of Chips, Fresh-Baked Cookie, Coffee, Iced Tea, Milk, Bottled Water or Soda.
Following the cruise, we'll head to the St. Louis Arch. For those wanting to take a ride to the top of the Arch, Dave Schuppe will be your tour guide!
Saturday evening: Dinner TBA

The hotel has an indoor pool and two restaurants. Shopping and transporation are close at hand so there will be plenty to do along with meeting new and old valve replacement friends.

I haven't been on in a while and didn't realize the reunion was in my neck of the woods until Hank e-mailed me. My husband and I are planning to attend since it is only a couple of hours away. Thanks Mary for everything. It will be nice to meet some of you that have touched my life!! Cooker I am sorry I won't be able to meet you and Hank you also! I am kinda scared though, did someone say Ross will be there?

Hi Everyone,
It won't be the same without the Hank & Michelle. Hank won't be able to get my husband in trouble. They would probably go buggey jumping or something like that. We have grown to care alot for alot of our VR.com friends.

Oh crimeny. I'll miss the "good stuff" on Friday ... and Saturday, depending on what time I arrive and have to head back to IL, I may miss the start of the cruise and going to the Arch. Well, we'll see.............

Hi Gina!
The link follows . . . we've got a negotiated rate of $99 a night and the parking fee has been waived.
I asked for the newly renovated rooms with hardwood floors and two queen size beds, and that's what we have!
They're also offering a discount for Hertz rentals that I can send separately to those wanting a car rental. Airport shuttle service is free and also offered within a four mile radius of the hotel. The Metrolink has a stop two blocks from the hotel, so that's another option for transportation.

If you can give me an idea of your time constraints, maybe we can tweak the schedule.
Dang it all.
Well, with all this recent sick time coupled with the talk that they may want to send me back to HotLanta for some more heart electrical TEST I just don't have enough vacation time built up for a trip to St Louis. So it is with a real heavy heart that Peggy and I announce we ain't a makin' the trip.
Peggy and I were so looking forward to the trip. Mary, it sounds like you've got your hands full and the entire week sounds like fun as usual. Maybe we will be in better shape (both health wise and otherwise) for next year's get-together.
I know everyone will enjoy the reunion and if you haven't tried one yet, I highly recommend it.

Wow, Mary, that's a generous offer ... but, I know how hard it is to plan something and keep a schedule, so don't change it on my account. I'll just see what I can participate in ... as long as I get to see PEOPLE ... it doesn't really matter to me ... if that makes sense
