Coming up on the one year mark since my valve replacement surgery and feeling great. Did find out at the 6 month exam that I have a small tear that if it remains stable, should not require surgery. Mine was a porcine valve and I wonder how common a tear is, and what others have experienced? Naturally, getting re-opened so soon is not high on my list of desirable activities but I wonder if there are minimally invasive options to repair the tear.

Appreciate any insight or experience the rest of you may have had with this?

Thanks as always and Happy New Year to All !

Dan

Congrats on the one year! Did they bother telling you where the tear is? I'm fairly certain it depends on it's location as to how it can be fixed if need be.
