The timing would be awful. At the moment she is obviously trying to handle so much and she is young, she really needs her mother at times like this to help her with her injured fiance, but to try to come to terms with them both is hard for such a young person.

I am thinking of your family so much, this is my first port of call on the site to check to se any progress.

Poor kid! He really needs something good to happen to him SOON! I am praying that this graft takes and all will start to settle very soon! :(

So happy that God decided to send a friendly nurse Chris' way - he certainly needed a break.

Praying that this surgery is his last and all goes well.

Thinking of you all every day.

Yeah Sandy, the nurse in question, left him a card and flowers also, yesterday while he was in the OR. Looks like she's gone until the 30th on vacation now. She did try to set him on a positive path and told him to stop worrying about his vital signs and look toward the future instead. It's hard when your in so much pain, to see anything beyond today. He'll get there though.

ross Does Chris like to talk online? if so ask about a laptop if he doesn't have one, sometimes the hospitals have them to borrow, I know there are some orgs that lend laptops to kids in the hosp for a long time maybe the hospital knows of somewhere to get one if he doesn't have a laptop. Justin's last surgery we took HIS ps2, dvds ect, but really when he was awake as soon as his firends were home from school he was on his laptop, it really helped his mood (altho I missed using it when he was lol)

Nope, since he met Savannah, being online is just not in the picture. All he wants to do is get better and get back with her. That is ALL that is on his mind right now.

It is Awesome......

It is Awesome......

to see some good news on this thread. I continue to pray for you. I think of you often; I watch my little ones and truthfully cannot imagine what you are going through... Or Chris, or Lynn, or poor Savanah. I pray for continued good news, some guarded optimism that Chris is FINALLY over the hump - and the rest of his recovery is on the up and up!!!

I was so glad to see that Chris got a pain pump. Horrorific that it took so long! Hoping so much that this surgery will work and he'll be healing up and out and about (walking on both feet!!) soon.

Get some rest, Ross! :)

Well we hope he's over the hump. We should know if this graft is taking within the next 48 hours. If it does, then were near middle of the road. He's still going to have months of rehab. Part when he's partial weight bearing and then more when he's full weight bearing. This is going to be a very very long, frustrating road to recovery.

Woo Hoo!!! Here's wishing the best for Chris and you and yours~~~

Sending prayers for a good result, Ross. Maybe concentrating on rehab and having a goal will help Chris with his temperment as well. Hoping that his fiancee sticks with him through this!

hi ross,
my computer's been in for repair these last two days, so i haven't been able to check on you and your family.
i'm so glad to return to what sounds like promising news. sounds like chris is looking forward and wants to heal and the pain meds, tv, etc, i'm sure help.

now we'll just continue praying that the grafts take and heal well. after that chris will be so happy to be improving, hopefully, rehab won't be too much of a pain to him.

about savannah, like karlynn said, she probably doesn't know how she feels in this tumult of emotions. poor girl. i bet chris is anxious to get back and support her.

how are you and lyn holding up? is she feeling better? thanks for the updates and please know that you are all still in our thoughts and prayers.
all the best, sylvia

Nothing new to report today. Still waiting and watching.

I'm getting very tired and will take a break pretty soon. Maybe Tuesday? Maybe?

Hoping things go well over the weekend, Ross and that you and Lyn get the rest you both must desperately need.

I'm hoping that Chris has turned the corner and this last surgery will have done the trick. I personally feel that orthopedic injuries and surgeries are some of the hardest to have to have. Bones heal pretty fast but the connecting tissues and soft tissue heal painfully slow. My heart really goes out to Chris and the rest of your family as well. I know Chris has many months of healing and rehab work ahead and before long I think you might be seeing an attitude change for the better and more of the "old" Chris back again. Hang in there dad! I know you are exhausted and have somehow found strength to do more than your body is normally capable of doing. It is amazing what we can muster when it is about our kids. Even so, your body can only do this for a limited length of time and then rest is needed. I'm hoping you are able to get some very soon. Your family is in my prayers each and every day.

I can't see the flap well enough to tell what's going on, but so far as I can see, it's looking good. Guess I have to wait for the Doc to unwrap and change the dressing to really tell.
