Hi,
Im after any advice any other parents can give me when their sons/daughters go off in the Army. My son Ben whos just 19 is joining the army on the 17th may, and im so proud of him on one hand and so worried on the other im trying to laugh and joke with him when he tells me of army life, as trying not to let him see how upset i am, sit and cry to myself when hes not around im going to miss him so much, he has been here for everyday since i had my operation and nothing has been to much trouble for him, not many 19year olds would look after their mums like he has me. Hes already been told he will be going to Iraq in December, then i really dont know how i will cope, i have to think this is something hes always wanted to do its his dream, he s joining the Paras and like i said before im so so proud.
So many other parents have to face this too, and im sure they all feel the same way i do, but how do you cope? PLEASE any advice?
Thanks so much
Jane
