Leroy - Glad to hear from a fellow (much stronger I'd guess) cyclist. What TT distance were you doing and what was your time when that picture was taken? How is your performance post op versus preop. What kind of time frame. A reduction of 2.5 is huge that soon. I can only hope for similar results.
Bob - Thanks for those encouraging words. I think Ross' characterization of my cardio was probably accurate: Old school. I will find another going forward. I also have a surgery date of 9/12. No use of "concentric". He did mention my "prominent" aorta but said there were no signs of developing dissection or aneurysm. 3 weeks can't go by fast enough. I hear you regarding the low exercise cap for now.
Funny, your comment about cyclists' "...taken off the track into the (ER)". I have been off the bike anyway for the last 6 weeks because of a herniated lumbar disk that sent me to the ER in an ambulance. I've never experienced such pain. My left leg has not recovered full function but I decided anyway, out of sheer frustration (and foolishness) to go do a 43 mile ride last week. I kept my heart rate below 150 and very slowly did a couple of my regular climbs. At the top of the tougher of the two, my rear derailleur cable broke. I pulled it through but had to ride home another 20 miles (with a tail wind thankfully) in my 12. I passed two local bike shops, both of which were "closed on Monday". This, experience, I decided was a sign to put the bike up until after surgery. And so I did. I'm not playing any more games. I just didn't realize how serious this is.
