Gentlemen heed my words. That .5 window is near impossible to maintain. A test can be off by that much. Don't set yourselves up for disappointment because that is not how Coumadin dosing works.

Again, be happy with anything between 2 and 4.

Just so you both know, a normal persons INR is .9 to 1.2, meaning no anticoagulation.
 
My occurrence (PSVT) happened two days after I got home from surgery - rate when the ambulance came was up to 200 bpm. Back to the hospital where they tried to knock it down by giving me a bolus of adenosine 3 times with no luck. Bring on the amiodarone... I left the hospital 9 days later with a shiny new prescription for amiodarone. Only took it for a month & doc had me quit cold turkey. Fortunately I never had another episode. The one potential side effect that freaked me out was the possibility of my skin turning blue with too much exposure to the sun:eek2:

I'm sure your doc is on it but if not - make sure they check your thyroid soon.
