After posting/reading posts about the ross procedure, it occured to me that my pulmonary artery may be compromised too... so I measured serial ct scans of mine. Here's the results:

2001 - 2.5cm
2008 - 2.6cm
2009 - 2.8cm
9/1/10 - 3.0cm @ local hospital
9/16/10 - 3.0cm @ UofM

I do NOT like the trend. Cursory googling says stuff about pulmonary hypertension. It's pretty obvious to me though that I wouldn't have this problem if it weren't for the BAV.

Just food for thought for the BAVers. I also just read that one surgeon is replacing aneurysmal pulmonary arteries at 5.0cm.

I more or less wanted people to know that this can happen so they can take it in to consideration before deciding on the ross procedure with a BAV, because they take the pulmonary valve AND the artery around it to the aortic position. Also, no one really seems to talk about the pulmonary artery.
