Maybe I am a little off base here but one thing I know.......this site is the most caring and concerning place "on the net" and as we pray for one another in times of need, I don't mind asking for your prayers and I believe in the power of prayer.

My brother, Tom, last year had lost his leg to diabetes, and now is faced with the possibility of losing his other leg. He's in the hospital as I write this and my sister and I will be consulting with several specialists to see if anything can be done to save it.

Please, my dear friends, I'm reaching out to all of you to say a prayer or two for Tom......I know he will appreciate it, as I will.

Thanks.

Bob

Consider it done Bob - We all need a few extra prayers from time to time.

Our duty

Our duty

Prayer is not only a powerfulful thing that actually works, it is our duty to pray for others in need. There are millions of people praying for us each and every day. We don't always realize this and it makes me feel better to think about it.

Bob, your brother is on my own personal prayer list.

I will have your brothers in my prayers. Here's praying that they will find a way to save his other leg. My neighbors best friend has diabetes too and also lost one of his legs. Power of prayer touches all of our lives!

You both are in my thoughts and prayers. Do keep us posted.

Bob,

First let me say, I don?t think you are ?off base? at all. We are your friends.

Bob,
Off base? No way!!!! I will add your brother, Tom, to my prayers.

May I ask a favor? Would you also pray for a member of my CML group? His name is Andrew and he is 21. He is in the hospital fighting for his life. He is 95% blastic, which means that there are more immature white cells in his blood than mature. He is suffering from periodic nose bleeds and cannot have a blood transfusion because his temp is 103+. From what I have learned from his aunt, he is fighting but it is a very hard fight to win.

Please pray for Andrew.

Take care,
Zazzy

Bob - you are such a special person. You are always in my prayers. I truly believe in prayer and have seen it work. Certainly, you can count on my prayers for your dear brother.

And, Zazzy, I will pray for your friend, too.

Pray in my car a lot and tomorrow I've got a lot of driving to do.

God bless

Gosh Bob-

I'm very sorry to hear about your brother. Diabetes is such an insidious disease. I know several people who have it.

I'll offer some prayers for him, and for Zazzy's friend also.

VR.COM PRAYER CHAIN

VR.COM PRAYER CHAIN

Add my "link" to the prayer chain for your bro. So sorry to hear this terrible news.

Bob, as you're very technical with your own heart health what is it about Diabetes that causes this extreme procedure to be the only answer to the problem?

I can be dumb about the condition, but I can still pray for ya.

Another question for you on a lighter note.....do we have a full foursome or more for the Opryland links? I will see you guys Friday evening, but I NEED to go to the practice range prior to tee time on Saturday morning.

Fore!

Bob-
All the best wishes to your bro.
You go in there and tell those docs!

I agree that this site is the most caring place on the net.
I was on another valve site for RP's and it was a whiny pity party not an uplifting, encouraging place like VR.com.

All good thoughts to you and your bro.

Bob,

I believe whole-heartedly in the power of prayer. Just knowing that people are praying for you does a world of good. I know that it helped my husband and I to get through his surgery when we were told how many people were praying for us. I will say a prayer for your brother that he will make it through this.

Bob - I will add your brother to my prayers. It must be pretty hard to lose just one leg. I hope he will somehow get through this. Tell him good luck with all.

Brother Tom

Brother Tom

Drs operated on his foot/leg yesterday to see if there is a chance for a bypass to get circulation back into his foot. They advised they doubt that anything further can be done and that if it doesn't take hold he will have to have his leg amputated above the knee. Doesn't look good. My sister and surgeon brother-in-law (both medical people) spoke with the surgeon.

Thanks for all your prayers.........I have let Tom know.

Update for Brother Tom

Update for Brother Tom

First, thanks everyone for all your prayers and words of kindness. For Tom, he has been discharged from the hospital and is home right now making weekly visits to have his foot looked at, dressing changed and a regular determination to see if circulation is improving.

So far, it has not improved and they are contemplating a second surgery, but that surgery would include an option for amputation of the leg.
