Running the last 7 days (3, 3, 6, 2.7, 4, 2, 3) = 23.7 miles total
That's just about average for me. Once I can get back to my normal weekend long runs we'll see some real mileage totals.

I'm going to start counting today, and I'll report next week. But I want to let everyone know that you CAN find an old-school pedometer that just gives you your milage. Nothing to calibrate, nothing to synch, giant, easy-to-read display. It was $11 at Sports Chalet!

Oh, man! Looking at all of your milage makes me feel like a total wimp! If I were to walk every day of the week (which is highly unlikely) the most I'd expect to rack up would be 9 miles. I'm impressed! (and ashamed  )

Niki, you can do this! Anything you do is better than nothing! I am not athletic and I just take 1 mile at a time. The most important thing, keep doing whatever you like to do and don't give up, walk even when you don't feel like it.
Take care Debbie :)

Niki ... this is not a contest ... just do what you can when you can ... If it was a contest we would win, we would have to cheat but we would win:D ... and you know ThrowDowners aren't cheaters:rolleyes::D

Hey Lee!
Great mileage!

I guess I won't be able to count my 50 mile bike ride from last Saturday......maybe I don't want to because that would mean I would be expected to exceed those miles, right???

Miles and exercise don't necessarily go hand in hand. When I start riding again, my mileage will go down to practically zippo. And if anyone suggests that I won't be participating in a rigorous athletic sport, they should remember that I am currently taking a LOT of steroids, which means that I not only can, but am likely, to throw an entire horsie so hard it will fly through cyberspace and land in their mashed potatoes!

President's Challenge - Fitness Tracking Tool

President's Challenge - Fitness Tracking Tool

I have a suggestion here that I'll throw out for consideration for valvereplacement dot com. There is a website that was set up a couple of years ago as part of the President's promotion of fitness for everyone. They have a website at: https://www.presidentschallenge.org/

This website has a section where you can "log" you activity, and they have almost 100 different activities that you can choose from. So, it has a lot of flexibility, is free, and there are also goals you can shoot for (bronze, silver, gold, etc), and there are promotional items like T-Shirts, pedometers, etc.

Also, as an option we could set up a "group" for valve replacement dot com Somebody would have to volunteer to be administrator. One thing though, I think the administrator gets to view the email address of the members of the group, but that would need to be verified. Although being group administrator probably wouldn't take much time, I am just too busy to take on one more thing right now, so perhaps somebody else might be interested in doing it. You do not have to join a group either - you can do it independently (on your own). And you can search for other groups that you might be interested in joining; e.g., your school, workplace, etc. Here are some highlights of the program:

The President?s Challenge is a program that encourages all Americans to make being active part of their everyday lives. No matter what your activity and fitness level, the President's Challenge can help motivate you to improve: https://www.presidentschallenge.org/

There are categories for all ages:

Kids: https://www.presidentschallenge.org/home_kids.aspx
Teens: https://www.presidentschallenge.org/home_teens.aspx
Adults: https://www.presidentschallenge.org/home_adults.aspx
Seniors: https://www.presidentschallenge.org/home_seniors.aspx

We know you're busy. Really busy. But finding time for fitness is easy - if you know where to look. The President?s Challenge will help you find a program that's right for you, with activities you like. Because the best way to stay active is to have fun doing it.

There is a fountain of youth. Millions have discovered it - the secret to feeling better and living longer. It's called staying active. All it takes is finding a program that works for you and sticking with it. And that's exactly where the President?s Challenge can help.

Staying active with others can be a lot of fun. They'll help keep you motivated - even when you don't really feel like it. Groups are a great way to meet new people. There are even programs for people at different activity levels: the Active Lifestyle program aimed at beginners, and the Presidential Champions program for those who are already active.

The President's Challenge lets you choose from almost 100 different activities. So you're sure to find at least one you like.

I would add that this should be non-political. It is simply meant to offer an exercise tracking tool and provide motivation for staying fit and is non-political. Please, no political comments!

I took a quick look at the site, pretty cool ? I think it is something that I might use for myself but I would prefer our ThrowDown stay where it is ? just my opinion.
