Well, I thought my pericarditis days were behind me but I guess I was wrong. Started with chest pain on Friday night and, by this morning, had full blown positional pain that increased with breathing.

Just got back from the doctor and he confirmed pericarditis. Very interesting since, after 3 OHS, there is very little of my pericardium left. I guess there's enough to get inflamed.

Anyway, just whining and looking for a little sympathy as this is a bad bout and I am really hurting. Say a prayer, if you will, that the meds start working quickly.

Thanks guys.

Hi Gina

Hi Gina

I am so sorry to here this.:( You have been through so much.
I am not sure what type of Meds you have to be on:rolleyes: but I
I pray they will work for you pretty fast.I have you in my prayers.
and wish you the best.

That doesn't sound like any fun, Gina. I wonder what brought it on for you? I'm sorry.

I hope you can take it easy and let those meds go to work. Patience. So hard, sometimes.

Best wishes and hugs coming your way!! Feel better soon!!

Marguerite

Aww, So sorry to hear of your uncomfortable pericarditis. I developed it after my surgery and I feel your discomfort!!! Poor thing, Hope you feel better soon!

Thanks guys. Sometimes hugs make all the difference. Combined with Medrol & Percocet, it's just what the doctor ordered. The pain is a bit under control now and I am sure will continue to decrease as the Medrol affects the inflamation.

And, of course, the Percocet makes me not care too much.;) :D ;)

Gina,

I am sorry to hear of the return of this problem. Am glad to hear the meds are providing you some relief. You know better than most that "whining" is defiinitely allowed -- even encouraged -- on here. (You have sure listened to enough of mine over the past 18 months or so. :p ) Of course it's not really whining -- it's venting, which often yields not just sympathetic ears but useful information from others who have "been there."

I am sending along my prayers for you.

Cheers,

Bob

P.S. I just re-read your last post. You're getting Percocet? Now I am envious. I remember when I was in the hospital the nurses offering those regularly. I took those happy pills every time I was offered!

Gina,
I am glad the meds are starting to help. Will also send my prayers your way. Take care and have a good time on your Percocet!!

Gina, I'm so sorry. I know how you must be hurting. I haven't had pericarditis (except rheumatic) but I've had pleuritis and pleural effusions and I know how those hurt. I'm glad the meds are helping. Remember to rest too! Take care and I hope this is short-lived.
