Left side

Hi all, does anyone have stories about sleeping on the left side and how soon after surgery it was possible?

Hi Nate: I am a right-side sleeper. It took me a little over 3 weeks before I was comfortable sleeping on my side.

I'm a side and chest sleeper. I'm 5 weeks out and still sleep on my back. Will probably continue doing so until week 8.

My first surgery, I couldn't sleep on my left side for at least 7-8 weeks and I healed smoothly with no unpleasant bumps. It just took that long for me to be comfortable.

Four years later, same surgeon, same hospital, same incision re-opened and I was able to sleep on my left side in about 3 weeks.

We are not only all different, one of us to the others, but also to ourselves, one surgery to another.

Left side hasn't worked out for me at all.......arranged my room so that i can sleep on my back or right side without facing the wall.

I slept on my left side while I was still in ICU. I used a lot of pillows for support. I am a side sleeper. I definitely do not sleep well on my back. I was an orthopedic nurse at the time so I know how to strategically place pillows. I actually told my ICU nurse what to do.
