There's another factor here --- if you follow our suggestions and go to your doctor -- and your INR is in a good spot, THEN you tell your doctor that you didn't follow her advice, what kind of patient will the doctor think you are? I realize that you don't want to go below 2.0 just because your doctor gave you bad advice -- so perhaps you should get tested after only 4 or 5 days - and see if you're dropping. OTOH - you could tell your doctor that you refer to a dosing chart and SUGGEST that her recommendations may not be consistent with the guidelines in the charts. She'll either hate you or ask you for a copy of the chart and, if she's a good doctor, perhaps start following these dosing charts rather than guessing at the changes she tells her patients to make.
