I avoid the stores like the plague on Boxing Day. It's like a feeding frenzy!!

Boxing Day is crazy for shopping there were thousands queued outside the CDB department stores waiting for the 5am opening :eek
It is the start of about a week of sales to clear all the christmas stock that didn't move, it is the single biggest day for retail turnover in Australia.

Thank you, Lionheart! We have freezing rain right now, so staying put instead of venturing out to the stores today.

Yes, very nasty freezing rain....street is deserted....even the horsies are indoors.
Last year though, my dtr's BF braved the sales and got a great deal on big screen TV, blue ray, etc.

I think we did pretty good on our Boxing Day sales.
Saved almost $330.00 on a TV stand and $200.00 on under-mount Microwave.

Sorry John, can't break tradition It's also the time I do my Christmas shopping for next year. That way the old credit card doesn't take a big hit come December

Boxing Day/Week warning......many places are dumping old stock.
Check warranties carefully.

Today I picked up 5 dinner plates, 5 smaller plates with 5 bowls all for $5.00, so I bought 3 boxes all in perfect condition. Five Bucks - can you believe it? WOW
