My St. Jude aortic valve is 7 years old today. I was fortunate to have an uneventful surgery and recovery.
And so far...no problems with coumadin.

I have some leakage with the sutures...which got fairly serious a couple years ago. However...this has partly closed up again. So...I am hoping any additional surgery is far down the road.

I just try and enjoy each day at a time.

Congratulations on 7 years!!!!! Take care, and may you have many more uneventful years to come!!

Jim:

Congrats on #7!

I have some regurge around the sutures, too, but my cardio isn't worried. I had my annual echo yesterday (7/23), and the cardio said the gradient had actually dropped, so he was pretty happy with the results. I'll get a written copy in 2-3 weeks.
My cardio said I'm doing just as good -- if not better -- at managing my INR with home-testing and adjusting my dosage than if I were going to the big Coumadin clinic at his practice. ;-))
