I got my St Jude valve eight years ago on 12-15-2000.
I was fortunate to find this site shortly afterwards. Thanks to all for the friendship and support over the years.

It always hasn't been easy, but in a lot of ways having my AVR was the best thing that has ever happened to me. I think I've become a better person in a lot of ways.

I ran 7.5 miles on Saturday morning in preparation for doing the Sarasota Half Marathon in February, followed by a 21 mile bike ride on Sunday. Can't express how lucky and blessed I feel about still being able to drag my 55 year old bones around this way. Every day is a blessing.
