Ross you have to learn to do things without having to preface them with the word "great" !!! seriously though, you need to thank that angel of mercy, send her a card and maybe some flowers, and find out if she is going into general practice or cardiology and be the first to sign up !

Hi again. I'm in deep trouble. I'm back to practically hemorrhaging and the Dental Clinic is blaming Coumadin for it. I think there is something else going on here. I think I need a Hematologist in on this asap. My INR is 1.5 and it's still gushing. Clotting, but not stopping, just grows clots until there so huge either I have to take it out or choke for air.

I've blown $1600 in ER and hospital admissions and it's looking like a real possibility another $1600 is in the works. I'm scared to the point of not really knowing what to do now. I used all the money donated to have this surgery and there is none in reserve. They say I'm still not eligible for Medicaid which I'm having a hard time understanding. I can't ask you all for more help, but it's certainly going to be needed. This is turning into a nightmare from hell in hurry.

In the ER, they gave me two units of plasma to bring the INR of 3.2 down to nothing and I still bleed. I brought that up to the Doctor and his still hell bent on it's the Coumadin. Every time I just take a dose, a day later, the bleeding starts. I'm on lovenox also, but stopping the Coumadin and Aspirin yet again. I have had next to no sleep, Lyn cannot afford to take off work and I'm fighting this bleeding as much as I can, but it's overwhelming me. I need some real help. These people are jacking all around the issue and not dealing with it.

If anyone reading is an oral surgeon, please please please, give me some direction here. I've tried everything I've read on Dental forums and such to no avail. I truly think something is wrong with my clotting ability outside of the anticoagulation issue. Has this happened to anyone here before?

I'm turning the reins over to Hank for a while. I cannot be here when I have my face spurting blood everywhere.

Ross, any chance of putting in a call to Dr. Norch? Don't give up and don't delay. You know we are always here for any further help you need. Money is not part of the quotient here- we just want you to get well!!

Ross...all I can say is I'm so sorry...I sent you a pm...please keep us posted when you are able.

chop up some ice and put it into a washcloth and bite down on it.

Post operative bleeding and i like Nancys idea

Too maybe if you could pack the tooth sockets and hold down

bite down like Nancy says and allow it to clot Ross

pack it with cotton ,ice something

Geeeez again Ross ..........Prayers at you.

I hope you're gone to the hospital by now, but just want to say Cindy and I are praying for you. Sounds like some excellent advice you've already received.

Sorry to hear this tonight Ross. You've gotten loads of good advice. Granted, I've only had wisdom teeth pulled (one on Coumadin) and I found that if I kept messing with the gauze packing it would start bleeding again. I even went back to the dentist - upset like you - and he said, "LEAVE IT ALONE....":( Also, don't lie flat when it's bleeding....I remember he said that too..!!

I agree with Nancy(as always) -that ice could help and with 'Girlie about
not lying down flat since it raise the pressure.
Also -in case you are still around- there are some herbs that can be helpful,
and please don't roll your eyes at me, but they are Calendula, St Johns Wort,
and Witch Hazel(not the antiseptic/tonic) . You take 1-2 tbsp of the
powdered/chopped herb,boil it for 30 seconds,strain it,let it cool,wrap it
in cheese cloth/thin gauze and pack it around problem areas.
OR Boil herbs for <1 minute, let it steep for>6 minutes, strain and cool , but
use the "tea" and swish it lightly over the problem areas.
Make sure the tea or the herb is all the way cooled before applying.
I'm sure you are laughing now:mad: but sometimes these simple
remedies do work(and alot don't too) So even though everyone is gonna
make fun of me, I'll leave it here just in case.
I really hope they fix you this time Ross, I will send some good,
positive thoughts and prayers:)

Dear Ross, hope your at the hospital and getting the correct attention you need to stop this bleeding.
Hope Hank or someone will keep us informed.
Prayers continue my friend - God Bless

My hubby had this when he pulled all his teeth

hes not on anything to have caused bleeding and

had to take him back to hospital and his roots were so

big and was infection they said that didn't help him.

I recall the dentist cus Dale did pull his on the chair,

i remember the dentist with one leg on the chair, and

pulling soooo hard to get darn teeth out and the hole sockets

were so large that in afew days the bleeding persisted for him.

Worse than heart surgery and the infection was painful

for him till antibiotics took a good grip.
I pray Ross your gone to see your Dr. at hospital by now.
