Can?t believe it has been six years already, but on 15 Aug 2002 I had my OHS to replace my aortic valve. Since then everything has been perfect. The doctors out here in the heartland of Nebraska have been wonderful and did a great job with me.
I get a heart check up once a year at the Nebraska Heart Institute http://www.nebraskaheart.com/Home/with my cardiologist who gives me the echo, EKG and general once over. I also get a six-month check up with my regular doctor who gives me a traditional physical and also regulates my INR, which has been rock steady at 2.3.
I started NutriSystem a couple of months ago, my wife calls it ?dog food? but must tell you its not all that bad. The real shock is the portion control, not use to eating such small portions, yet it really does work.
The wife and I have two beautiful married daughters who live in California (LA area) and have given us three wonderful grandchildren. The oldest grand-daughter is now 4, our grand-son is 18 months and loves trucks and anything with wheels, and the youngest grand-daughter is 13 months. We went to visit them last week and had a blast. The 13th month old is non-stop action.
I know I don?t post much but I do check in on a regular basis, always like to see what Ross is up to.
For all you newcomers to Valvereplacement.com Ross is the real heart of this site. I know he really helped me get though the pre and post surgery phase.
Wishing everyone great heart health and remember to stop and smell the flowers.
