Husband is having surgery in am

Well, finally after 3, count them 3, trips to the ER for my husband's kidney stone, they finally decided to call in a urology consult who took one look at the very first (!) CT scan and said he would need surgery. Are you kidding? The man has been in excruciating pain for almost a week now and he could have had surgery days ago to relieve it if only someone competent had read his CT. So, they are putting in a stent in his kidney tomorrow, then we are ok to go on vacation. When we get back in two weeks, they will try and bust it up or they will go in and remove it. Thank goodness it will all be over soon!

By the way, I'm finally on the mend from my whole stomachbug / fever thing. Thanks so much for all of your well wishes.

Well, Thank God that your poor husband is finally going to have some relief! I just hope he doesn't have any problems when traveling? Will he have some pain killers in case he needs them?

I hope everything goes well on your trip & then you can deal with what needs to be dealt with when you return. Stay safe!

bri had the stent but it can't be left over 30 days (at least his couldn't) so be sure to stay in touch w/his dr.

I am very happy that this is going to be done. The crushing will be best if it can be crushed. You all have my prayers for a success with this and pain release for him. GODSPEED!

The insertion of those stents isn't bad, but the withdrawal sucks! Those things are about 18 inches long.

Ross...I haven't shared that detail with him yet, he was too drugged up to hear the Dr. ...I don't think I will join him on that trip to the Dr. office!

My hubby has passed a kidney stone before, and my late Mom had some "blasted". Not fun, but it's gotta be done.
