Hello All,
My name is Matt and I'm 34. Next Thursday the 28th, I'll be having aortic valve replacement due to valve insufficiency (bi cuspid). I had my cath Thursday and there were no blockages (still sore from the incision in my groin!). Apparently, I am healthy as a horse if it weren't for this "leaky" valve! I am glad I found this site, I have learned alot reading post from others.
I am getting a mechanical valve ( I don't know what model or anything). I asked the Dr. about the mini sternoctomey??sp. He said he prefers the full, but would do whatever I asked. I guess I don't want to inconvienence him, so I'll elect the full sternum incision. Anyway, just wanted to say hi to everyone and good luck to all!
