please keep my best friend in your prayers. He is 46 and has had heart problems his entire life. He's to the point now where he's tired of it all and simply wants to let go. It's very hard to keep him from thinking that way. Over the last year, he's gone in afib numeous times and cardioversion almost everytime. He's been ablated and apparently it's done no good. I got this from him a few minutes ago.

I went to the Cleveland Clinic yesterday. As it stands right now I have been going in & out of A-fib, mostly in. I was told by Dr. Kanj, who by the way is leaving the clinic, that I will probably need another ablation. This next ablation will be done by yet another doctor. The next ablation could help, but most likely what will happen is that it would end up to be too much scarring. With too much scarring the electrodes in the heart cannot communicate. This will mean that I will need a pacemaker installed. The way my heart is set up still, the way the doctor was talking, makes that kind of iffy also. I do not know what to do.

Ross....your friend will be in my prayers...Heath issues as you know can be very discouraging....If you haven't already why not pass along the link to the video Praline posted...When I get discouraged or on my pity pot (not saying he is on one) it sure helps me to realize how fortune I am to have yet another day.

Your friend will be in my prayers. Joe felt that way sometimes, but he eventually thought his way out of it, and came around to thinking, "what choice to I have. Either I let things go and face possible death, or let them try again and possibly get a fix. I just have to go on trying."

It worked for him until there were absolutely no alternatives.

Your friend still has alternatives. No one has told him that this is the end. They have told him that it might help, but could be iffy. "Iffy" is subjective and really has no meaning. Either the procedure works or it doesn't.

Terry was born with his heart plumbing backwards. Heart surgery to him is like we hope we never see, he's done it so many times. He really needs a new heart, but says no. I'm sorry to say, but being honest, I know where he's coming from. Just scary that it's happening to a younger friend then myself.

Our prayers are with your friend, Ross. I know you will find the right words to encourage him and hopefully lead him out of his depression and maybe even open to the idea of a transplant.

Ross, I agree with you both completely...

Terry most certainly has my prayers and understanding of how tiring and upsetting and frustrating having multiple illnesses (or chronic problems with 1 illness). Please know that he is in my prayers and thoughts. Harrybaby:eek:

thinking of Terry and saying prayers for a better day tomorrow, and the next day, and.......... well, you know.

I am sorry. It's so hard when it's a dear one who is in such distress.

I will certainly pray for your friend. Tomorrow evening when I go to church, I will offer my prayers during the mass for your friend. I hope that he will get some relief from this treatment.

prayers for your friend Terry

Ross thoughts and many prayers going out to your
friend Terry and also for you,in this time when faith
makes things possible it doesnt make them easy.I lost
two closest friends last year both my brothers in matter of
of 8 months ,both to heart complications and kind of understand
friendships are a wonderful treasure in sunshine and shade, but
sometimes each day provides its own gifts ,and during their illnesses
was a very difficult time for them and i hated to see either one suffer
too much more.Im happy i was there at the end for both brothers
and my closest friends and needed alot of prayers for me too and im
including you along with Terry my thoughts and prayers are now
going out to comfort you both, all the best with all of this, Please
keep us posted on how Terrys doing and how you are.

So sorry Ross that your friend is going through all this, i really hope things work out for him. Sending my thoughts prayers and best wishes to Terry.

I'm sure at this point, he's praying that a pacemaker will be all that's needed. We both fear is his electrical conduits are too messed up.
