South Sound Sailor, best wishes on your upcoming AVR!
I know you are ready to get this over and done with so you can resume your active lifestyle! I hope you are able to update up on your progress following surgery and keep us informed on how the On-X trial proceeds. Best of luck--God Bless and Godspeed!

Wishing you the very best.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Please try to keep us posted - we'll worry.

Godspeed

Thank you Mary!!!

Thank you Mary!!!

Mary - Thank you! I kept meaning to post my BIG DATE but every time I logged on to vr.com, I would spend all my on-line time reading the stories others have to tell. But yes, I'm soon going to have to change my signature line from "Waiting in Washington" to "Been There, Done That!"

So, February 5, Super-Tuesday if you're into politics, FAT Tuesday if you're into Mardi Gras-style partying (and who isn't???) ;) , the day before Ash Wednesday, yep, that's my date to hook up with Dr. Dennis Nichols at Tacoma General. He's going to help me write the next several chapters of my life.

To everyone here, THANK YOU for the stories you've shared. I've always believed that the best way to get over feeling sorry for yourself is by connecting with people who have experienced similar challenges and have, through the power of prayer, positive energy and a healthy dose of humor, overcome those challenges. THIS IS WHAT VR.COM IS ALL ABOUT.

As I stated earlier today... the price for admission to this club is ridiculously high but the payoff for sticking around is priceless!

I know you will be running after your 4 kids before you know it and running for pure pleasure too. Best wishes for a successful surgery and uneventful recovery and Godspeed!

Steve,

Sending you lots of positive thoughts and prayers as you prepare for your big day next Tuesday. You sound so upbeat in your message but I'm sure there must be some frazzled nerves as well so I hope that you can try to relax and enjoy those 4 little ones in the next few days. Also sending good thoughts for an uneventful surgery and easy recovery. Just think how great you are going to feel after you recovery! :)

Take Care!

All the best,
Susie

good luck...ill be a week after you

good luck on your surgery, i am scheduled for feb 12th.. we can recover together!!

Hey, Steve. I'll be thinking of you. Do you have an early surgery? If so, I will probably be up that day before YOU are! Have to drop my daughter off at the airport at 4am for an international flight. UGH.

I'm sure I'll take the escalator down toward baggage claim at PDX and grab me a Starbucks before I hop back on the 205 for home. I'll be sure to look North and send you good wishes before I head south for home.

You're gonna be great. You have the most wonderful attitude. That will honestly serve you well!

:) Marguerite

Hi Steve,

I will be thinking of you and your family on Tuesday. Your job now is to find the peace within and try to stay in that space as much as you can. All the best wishes for you to be hugging your children as soon as possible after surgery. And lots of prayers for a succesful sugery and recovery.

All the best, Betsy

Dear Steve, your going to do great, don't worry! Your in good shape, found a good hospital and doc. and your well informed, you'll do great. I'm 10 days post-op and doing pretty good, not much pain and i have'nt taken any pain meds for 3 days except at night. I am VERY tired and feel like i'm gluded to the recliner! I get up as much as possible the more you move better you'll feel and heal faster. Good luck on tuesday Debbie:)

I will be looking to welcome you to this side of the mountain. And if you were here, your surgery would not happen this Tuesday. Everything will pause here to let people celebrate Mardi Gras.:D
I will keep you in my prayers.

Steve,

All my best wishes, prayers, and positive energy to you and your family as you embark on your journey "over the mountain." I am sure you will do really well as you have a wonderful attitude and you have certainly done your research. We will be anxious to hear how you are doing so please do try and have someone post for you to update us here. I had my husband log onto under my account and let everyone know how I was doing until I was able to post for myself, which was a couple days. If you can, please let us know. I am looking forward to the 4 of us Puget Sounders having the opportunity to get together for coffee and to meet in person once we have all made it through surgery so we're getting closer to that date. I know you will do really good. Keep positive and just visualize yourself doing all the things you love to do and in perfect health...before you know it, that will be your reality!
