...but wonder if you are the only one....

A discussion about NBC's "Friday Night Lights" (Fridays, 8p central) set my mind to wonder about what other shows are on TV (or WERE on TV this season) that you watch, but wonder if you are the only one....

"Friday Night Lights" is definitely one of those for me. With Connie Britton (from ABC's "Spin City") and Kyle Chandler (from CBS' "Early Edition") and an amazing cast ... it is one of my favorites each week. And, while it is critically acclaimed, it doesn't have much of a fan base, claims NBC.

Others for me include...

ABC's "Pushing Daisies" (Wednesdays, 7p central)

ABC's "Samantha Who?" (I think this was originally Mondays, 8p or 8:30p central)

FOX's "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?" (Thursdays, 7p central)

FOX's "Don't Forget The Lyrics!" (Thursdays, 8p central)

CBS's "NUMB3RS" (Fridays, 9p central)

call the networks

call the networks

and tell them not to be so greedy and settle with the writers. what the writers are asking for is so little. it would help if you called and made your voice heard.

thanks

Mystery! (PBS)

The Office

My Name is Earl

30 Rock

Top Gear (BBC)

Antique Roadshow (PBS)

Regarding the strike, if it goes on much longer, I think all the major networks are going to lose viewers--permanently. Then everyone will be searching for a new job!

American Idol

Deal Or No Deal

Are You Smarter Than A Fifth-Grader?

Don't Forget The Lyrics

(Everything else we watch is either old, i.e., M*A*S*H, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, Waltons, or an occasional movie)

Thanks Cort :)

Thanks Cort :)

We couldn't get cable for a long time so I get two snowy channels on a good night  . Cable's available here now though so we may upgrade our 20-year old television and then I'll get to watch the Home and Garden network :) .

I've been buying the Monk series--really enjoy that show. Our sons and their wives come over to watch and we ration out the episodes and we've discovered that we're all much more OCD than we thought :p ...

Really enjoyed watching Dancing with the Stars but I didn't realize that it snowed that much in Hollywood :p .

I'm like you, Cooker, in that I really enjoy some of those cheerful and happy old series like The Andy Griffith Show.

And I'm still depressed that I haven't seen Antique Roadshow since we moved out here in the boonies years ago--can't even get PBS here :( .

Edit - I found the Jericho series intriguing and taped last week's new episode but haven't watched it yet.

Heroes

Dirty Jobs

Myth Busters

Get Smart

Hogans Heroes
Same here but ad King of the Hill, M*A*S*H, CSI and that's pretty much it.

American Idol (I know; I am a brainless addict) :D

Hannity & Colmes
Glenn Beck
Bill O'Reilly
CNN and Fox political coverage (I am a political junkie)

mlb.com during baseball season (To catch Redbirds games right on my puter)
NFC football games on Fox, esp the Redskins

Of course Sports Center and Baseball Tonight in season (I am a sports junkie)

Flix movies, R-rated, occasionally, very late at night (for a little spice) ;)

Food Network occasionally, esp Emeril (for a different kind of spice), though these are hazardous for Cooker's Throw-Down purposes :p

Of course, CMT for the latest in country music.

I am not currently into any of the continuing comedies or dramas. Used to enjoy "Three's Company" (I miss John Ritter -- so sad his heart problem wasn't detected in time.)

I'm having trouble finding a comedy that I can't live without.

Those shows that I do like include:
The BBC America, especially Dr. Who and You are What You Eat,
Law and Order SVU
Law and Order-Criminal Intent
Numbers...just love this show because of the warm fuzzies!
Judge Judy
The Today Show
Jeopardy
NCIS
30 minute Meals - Rachel Ray
Any Masterpiece Theatre.

Chuck
Heros
How I Met Your Mother (FUNNY!!!)
Big Bang Theory
Two and a half men (though this one is getting old)
Boston Legal
Psych (USA network- GREAT show!)
Pushing Daisies
Top Chef
Hell's Kitchen

Nathan also watches:
30 Rock
Nip Tuck (FX)
Project Runway
and several others...

We tend to record all of these shows and watch them on the weekends or evenings that we're both home. We never watch commercials anymore. Considering 50% of what we watch comes on Monday night, it's a good thing DVRs were invented! ;)

The Office
Ugly Betty
Medium
Two and a Half Men
American Idol (maybe)

As you all can see -

As you all can see -

any more I like the "fluff" stuff on VR.com. :D

My fave shows in no particular order:

Good Morning America (love the whole gang - like family to me in the mornings as I work from home)
Hannity & Colmes
Bill O'Reilly
Barefoot Contessa (Food Network)
Rachel Ray Travel shows, such as $40 A Day (she makes me tired watching her cook while "yelling" the whole time - lol)
Desperate Housewives
Dancing with the Stars (when does a new one start??) I'm having withdrawal!
Larry King (sometimes)
QVC when someone fun is on like Suzanne Somers, etc.

My husband and I are too serious - we don't watch any fun shows (I watch a few but Wayne none) - we do like to rent movies, though.
