Here in good old South Carolina it is: mustard, onions and chili. Add slaw and Texas Pete if you like. I do:D

So how do you like your hot dog? This could be the "Great Hot Dog Pole of VR.com"

Not an approved diet but I do believe it is low in vitamin K:p :p :p I know, slaw:mad:

I like them best with chili and onion. Just recently had it with slaw added on top....very good!! I also like cheese, chili and onion. That's it for me. I don't eat mustard; don't like ketchup with the chili. Love the hot dog almost burned (but I hear that is not healthy?).

Now you did it Cooker. I'm HUNGRY!!!

One of my favorite, too.. from the Dairy Queen........Know you have them in S.C...Cooker...Just have coleslaw..and they get messy..but love them.:p ..With chilli almost have to have a fork..they fall apart.. Do you have a Sonic...they are the ones that still have the carhops that bring them out..they have the long hot dogs..what a mess.If you ask for everything.:D Really need a fork..:D Bonnie

I was born and raised in Montreal.....I long for a "steamie" with mustard, sauerkraut and onions......along with fries dripping in vinegar.....nothing like in this part of Ontario.

With Cincinnati chili, onions, yellow mustard and shredded mild cheddar cheese.

Cooker - What is Texas Pete? I've lived in Texas for 39 of my 45 years and I've never heard of it. Is this something you made up?

There used to be a brand called Wranglers that was more like sausage than hot dogs and I really liked them, but they disappeared several years ago. Now, I have to really be in the mood for a hot dog, but when it is cold outside, I like them grilled, preferably in a campfire, with chili. In the summer, I also insist on grilled, with mayonnaise and cheese. Wise, I agree that almost burned is best. I've also been know to slice them lengthwise, not quite in half, insert cheese, wrap in a crescent roll and bake. After all that, it sounds like I like them, but I probably only eat hot dogs 3 times a year.

Heck no!!! Ok someone needs to jump in here and help me:mad: make it up:mad:  It is a name brand of hot sauce and wing sauce etc. I don't joke about food;) I will mail you a bottle if you need proof:cool:

:p :p :p :p

OMG!!!!

I looked it up on Wikipedia and found that "Texas" Pete is made in North Carolina! This is a travesty! If we had a decent governor, I would report this crime to him immediately, but unfortunately, our kickass cowboy is in Washington, D.C.!:D

Reminds me of a Pace Picante Sauce commercial that was out a while back where they were promoting Pace as a product of San Antonio and compared it to another brand that was made in New York City!

I guess my favorite is chilli chese dogs. I eat them with onion mustard and ketchup too.

Check your supermarkets shelves with other chilli sauces for Texas Pete sauce. We have it here.

Such Travesties, Such Indignities! ! !

Such Travesties, Such Indignities! ! !

Here in Chicago, the ONLY way to enjoy a hot dog is with yellow mustard, relish, onion and maybe a hot pepper. NEVER catsup or mayo. What are you folks thinking? Sweet condiments don't go with spicy foods here.

And, I think the best remaining hot dog place in Chicago is Super Dawg, on the far Northwest side (close to home), where they still have the electronic order board with a speaker so you can order from your car, then the car hop brings out your order. Just like high school! (Except now we can only go there once or twice a year, not several times a week. . . )
