Connie thank you for letting us know about Deana so we can focus our thoughts and prayers. I was so sorry to hear about this setback, but so glad that she got fast medical attention and is doing well. She seems very strong and has talked about all the great support she has, so I'm sure that she will be back on track for a smooth recovery soon. Love to Deana and all of her loving family.

Stroke and now seizures

Hello again it is me Connie,
She is still in the hospital and is so weak she can't get out of bed. They have asked her to remain down and allow her body to heal. Also they informed us that she is now having seizures and started her on medication today for that. They assume that is what is causing her severe headaches. Her kids are going down there tomorrow for the 1st time to see her and she is looking forward to that! She still has memory loss and is very frustrated that she has to be told over and over anything. She said it reminds her of Ground Hog Day the movie. Anyway quick update she is not expected to come home till late this week. I will keep you all posted and I can't wait to read all the sweet replies to her! She loves you all!

I'm concerned. Did they release her or keep her and if released, did they give her lovenox or some other injectible anticoagulant to use until her INR is in range? If not, get on the phone and demand it!!!! She would still be in danger.

This would be another good case for her to hometest her own INR and perhaps manage her own dosing.

Yes they did not keep her just gave her the shot of lovenox and 4 aspirins and she was gone. INR WAS .7 AND NOW IS 1.8 AND STILL WANT IT AT 2.5 OR EVEN 3.0 SHE WILL COME HOME MOST LIKELY FRIDAY...IF...SHE IS NOT SOOO WEAK, RIGHT NOW IS VERY WEEK.

Connie they should have sent her home with Lovenox to give herself until she's in range. She's still in danger until it gets back up to 2.5.
 
Please add my best wishes and thoughts to those of everyone else. The positive thing here is that she got such quick treatment. Good for her hubby. Hope she (and all of you) are feeling better soon.

I also echo Ross's concern and thoughts about home testing. With home testing she might have known she was out of range and been able to correct it in time to prevent any problems. Something to consider for the future!

I'm hoping she's on Lovenox or heparin now. I would assume she is, but make sure.
