When should my son see me after surgery??

hi! i had my surgery 3 months ago. my sons are 4 and 6 and they came to see me on day 5. I was in for 9 days because of some complications but I would concur with the advice given already--just not in the ICU because of all the equipment, tight spaces and noises. then maybe give yourself a day to be able to get used tothe step down unit or regular floor. My guys were scared but we just put the tv on for them and spongebob made them feel right at home! best of luck.

Thanks so much everyone for the good advice. I think we are planning on 3 days and just see how it goes. It's good to hear how everyone else has handled this. He knows I'm having my heart fixed and I think he will be happy to walk in and see my smiling face and not a bunch of tubes and machines.
