What can be taken that won't affect INR? Hubby has a horrid cold, sinuses are bad and he is coughing like crazy. He is on Keflex also as our daughter had strep throat dx on Friday. Is Sudafed, DayQuil, mytussin AC (over a year old now) acceptable? It seems like he really needs some sort of a decongestant.

It is likely the Keflex is going to have some effect on his INR so, unless there is a heartrate reason or some other reason Nathan cannot take OTC meds, he should be able to take the meds since you should be testing his INR on Monday due to the Keflex. Does Nathan home test? If so, just keep close tabs and adjust his dose as needed.

You could also check Al's website to see if any of the meds you have listed are covered. http://WWW.WARFARINFO.COM

We've discussed this before and the consensus is, take whatever works for you. Coumadin clinic no no sheet says no to a bunch of them. I've taken all the no no's and have had no problem. It's the no no's that work! Sudafed may freak his heart out a bit, but if that's what works for him, hey.
