Greetings to all!

I was at the Cardiologist the other day, and realized that readers might be interested to know about some of the common medical terminology in other languages. I'll start with Japanese. If any of you ever find yourselves in this country, you'll be relieved to know that most of the medical words are the same, albeit a much different pronunciation.

English Japanese
warfarin "wah far lean"
INR "eye in ah lew"

'Brand-name' drugs are commonly not used in Japan, so don't wander the streets telling people that you're taking coumadin.

Any other speakers of different languages want to share?
