Thank you for the good thoughts below. Surgery was faster than expected. Dr. Svensson explained to my husband that one of the remaining leaflets of my bicuspid valve was comletely stuck and the valve was more calcified that thought. He put in a bovine valve. He had to take out more of the aorta than expected also since the weak part strtched further past the arch. The aortic tissue was very "soft" according to Dr. Svensson. The timing was right for all of this it seems.
It is possible that I might go home tomorrow but Sunday might be more realistic.
I guess I should be posting in the post-surgery forum from now on.
Thanks for the support. Great to hear such encouraging news fom other Dr.S patients. That gives me hope as I still feel pretty beaten up. Typing" undr influence" so excuse typos.
