My blood pressure was well regulated on 5 mg amlodopine and 20 mg Coreg CR before and after my AVR 3 months ago. Suddenly a couple of days ago my BP jumped to 216/105 - I called my doc and he told me to double the Coreg to 40 mg. I did that, and my BP dropped back to normal in a few hours. I remained on the increased Coreg dosage, but the following day the same thing happened - spiked to 200+/100+, but then settled down over the next few hours. Today my BP has been within reasonable limits - no spike.
My cardiologist couldn't account for the spikes - has anybody else experienced anything like this?
