You've done your research and you've ended up with an excellent surgeon and a great hospital at Emory. Wondering if you have made a decision on the Medtronics or On-X? Wishing you a successful surgery and uneventful recovery. Hope someone can update us as you know we worry. Godspeed!

Thanks to you all for your support and kind words.

I guess I am looking at about 48hrs and counting..

I will be an ON-X guy.

Look forward to posting in the next day or so or afterward.

I talked to the Dr. today and he said he will be replacing at least part of the arch during the surgery. This will extend the surgery time to 6-8 hours.

I have to be at the hospital tomorrow at 1pm for pre-testing and then at 6am on Wednesday for the deal. They plan to start the surgery around 7:45.

My wife has set up a carepage for those interested in following my progress. The link is

The title of the page is blakesheartsurgery.

Thanks again for your support and encouragement.

Thanks for posting the link. We'll be checking it out to see how you're progressing.
God Bless and Godspeed!
