sharp pain in chest

I am coming up to 4 years post op AVR and lately in the last month I've noticed a quick sharp pain on the left side of my chest comes and goes,,no classic signs of heart attack ie: shortness of breath , sweating,etc..been to the GP and he doesn't know, any suggestions??I am active, walking 2 miles a day with no pain on exertion, I have my yearly echo scheduled in november and follow up appoint with cardiologist..

A quick, sharp pain could be a muscle spasm, gas pains or pleurisy.

I would second what guyswell said. It is usually muscle spasm or gas.

I would worry if the pain increased with exertion! So, I endorse other members that this could be muscle spasm!
