Got the call today after the vampires got more blood from me that "I can assume" I am in the research trial.
Won't know until later on if I am on the coumadin and baby aspirn as I am now ( difference is On-X will cover meds and home meter for INR testing )
or I am on the Plavex and baby aspirin, they also cover the meds.
They set my next appt. for mid Feb in case I stay with warfarin, at that time they will have a home meter for me.

Which is the leg of the study you hope you are assigned to?

Good question, I look at it this way. If I end up with what I currently am doing -I gain home monitor meter and meds.
If I end up on Plavix and aspirin I have no meter and no coumadin clinics plus paid meds ( both come with other tests as far as I know, random blood work and echo scan). I currently take around 32.5 mgs of warfarin a week to keep me on target INR.
I'll go where ever the blood tests take me.
It won't be disappointing if I'm stuck with warfarin, put it that way, the home meter will be a plus.
