Rain,

Have you called your insurance about the internet referral? I've always wondered how that would work.

Ryan,

Are you feeling part of the great big family here.....lots of aunts and uncles and distant cousins all interested in your well-being. I enjoyed meeting you in Golden and sure would like to see you get fixed before there is extended damage.

Rain,
Big Congrats on your 5 year mark - wishing you 50 more, all filled with joy.

To begin...Happy 5th. Great news. I pray you will have many, many more.

Secondly, I am sorry for the delay in responding.........Robthatsme kept me busy the last few days. Havn't checked the site since Thursday last week.

Rain,

Dr. Lytle is a great doc at CCF. I have heard very possitive things about him from all I've spoken to that have personal experience with him. I have never had the pleasure myself of dealing with him, yet....I would be very fine if he were to fill in for my doc when I go for a check-up !!

God Bless & keep us posted.

Ben

Gail & Ben,

Ryan had actually been looking at Dr. Svensson.... but our cardio recommended Dr. Bruce Lytle and he?s listed as one of their Marfan?s doctors. It?s nice to hear from people who have used them.

Carolyn, did you have any problem getting your insurance to pay for the second opinion from them? I read on their site that its $565.00. Yikes! I?m hoping its like the other second opinions we?ve got.... normally it costs us $30.00 to see a specialist. I?m also wondering how many ?second opinions? the insurance will pay for. I mean since Ryan just seen a cardio, then a surgeon in Fort Collins for second opinions. This will really be a third opinion... but the first one by a ?marfan?s doctor?.

No, when I decided to go up for the in person eval they had already reviewed all my records and my TEE tape from Nov 04. I don't recall ever seeing a bill for that.....Dr Lytle wrote me back and suggested I come up for a work up, which I did, and, as they say, the rest is history. May 10 is my "date with destiny" with Dr Lytle. He's great. I loved talking to him--he's very down to earth and impresses me as a straight shooter, which I value in my doctors. I had to do my $15 co-pay for both him and Dr Griffin, the cardiologist they had me see. My bill for the two days of eval (which was like a pre-op work up and included labs, echo, Chest xray, pulmonary function test, carotid doppler, CTscan of the chest abdomen and pelvis, and a cath the second day) ( I was exhausted the day I got back!) was pretty well covered by insurance, although I think I may have already hit my out of pocket max for the year LOL.
