Betty, my first visit here in a long time. I am so glad it was successful! Sending a big hug. Your valve bro

What a surprise to this this old thread surface again. Gina, I hope all goes well for you. It has been several years and so far all is well. I've had to have several other areas zapped but no return of the SQC on the lip. My brother in law had MOHRs on his back several months back and I'm glad he did for the area was quite extensive. All went well with him too. I'll watch for an update from you. :)

Hi Betty,

Hope you are doing well. Happy to hear all worked out well for yourself and brother. It's a scary DX. But good to know it can be taken care of.

The dermatologist mentioned that women with basal cell are more susceptible to breast cancer. So make sure I get my mammograms on a regulr basis.

I do hear the MOHS is the way to go. Was given the option of having it removed conventionally. In the same breath, it was mentioned it could return. Guess it could either way, chances are less with the MOHS. I do wonder why one would take that chance? The dermatologist that referred to the MOHS specialist stated if she did the conventional proceedue, I would have immediate recovery vrs. the MOHS. As far as getting back to exercise or lifting. I would rather wait the 2-3 weeks and have the MOHS. Did not realize not every dermatologist performs MOHS. I see it's really a pretty rare subspecialty. Not many Drs, even in our large city!

Do you stay away from the sun now? I do enjoy on vacations and weekends during the summer. Have the winter to think about that now! Will not see the light of day until June. Though, I am sure we will take a few vacations between now and then.

Today I had a dental extraction. Bridging with the Lovenox. Not having a real good month. Though, had a number of really great years. Things are bound to break down every now and again. :).

Take care!

Today is my MOHS surgery :(. Not very concerned, other than the fact I will have a difficult time working if I can't move one of my arms (do the the stitches) to it's full capacity. Should be interesting!

They do the proceedure while fully coagulated. Though, my INR was 2.3 yesterday. Better for the proceedure. Not so much for the valve!

Thank you Mary. That was very sweet.

I am home. Pressure dressing on. They were able to get all of it in the first sweep. Sutures for 2 weeks. My largest hurdle will be the lack of lifting and raising my arm above my head for that time period! As far as I can tell. No bleeding.

Thanks Mary. Yes, very much so! I am also happy Lovenox was not involved. I have an awful time with the bridging. When my levels start to come back up, using both. Always have a post surgical bleed. Went through another personal hell with oral surgery issue a few weeks ago. Bleeding day 3, for 2 days straight.

Looking forward, small in comparsion. My mind is on Cort!

My mind is on Cort too but you as well. I'm glad to read it went well. Those couple of weeks will pass fast.

Lovenox causes me more bleeding problems that coumadin ever has! I'm sorry about that bleeding after your oral surgery. I think it is the worst part of anticoagulation. It still is a small thing in the scope of things though.

I put sunblock on every morning and if I am to be outside for any length of time then I reapply it. I love to work in my yard (actually just my garden:) ) and I just couldn't give that up unless I had no choice. I hope you have no recurrence but be faithful to get you re-checks. It seems I had to go every 6 months for the first few years but now go just once a year. Thanks for posting....it made me thankful all over again.
