Hello,
Hannah is less than two years post op from her aortic valve replacement (mechanical) and I am happy to say that in addition to dance and gymanastic classes, she made both the football and basketball cheerleading squads for her upcoming 7th grade school year! I couldn't be more proud of her! Not because of the specific activities she is doing, but because she refuses to let her condition, surgery, daily medication, etc bring her down or stop her from being a normal kid. She is my inspiration!!! I know how inspiring stories on this site helped me through my darkest times pre and post op, so I thought I should share Hannah's story.
For patients young and old - life can still be great after surgery - if not better!
Have a great day - Best wishes
