Hello everyone,

I'm scheduled to have Mitral Valve Repair via OHS next Wednesday morning. I have known about my bi-leaflet prolapse for roughly 6 years, and I'm ready. I guess I'm somewhat at peace with the surgery.... This site has helped me a lot!! Even though I'm not an avid poster, I read a lot, and I've learned a lot. It definitely feels comforting to hear about all the success stories. Oh ya, I'm 35, so I'm not sure if this will be my last OHS. Hope so!!

Good luck!

I also have mitral regurgitation because of a bileaflet prolapse. In my case, surgery is still not recommended, but i am closely monitored.

If the repair is successfull, and there is a big chance it will be, it can perfectly last for your entire life! So do not think about more OHS!!

Take care. You will be ok.

Good luck. I was pretty calm after I set the surgeon/date/valve type, except for the last day. I knew I couldn't work the day before so I stayed home. Doing a will in the morning kind of set me down. But cleaning up my recovery room and watching a good movie took my mind off it. Remain strong, it will all go well.
