This is a link to a newsletter from Albany Medical Center, Heart Institute. I found information in this article that explained a lot of things post-surgery, that are not often discussed, in relation to thrombus formation at the new surgical site, both for mechanical and bioprosthesis.
The Heart Institute is the wonderful heart center that finally helped Joe with his CHF and pulmonary hypertension. They do wonderful work.
Once into the site, look at the top right, Heart Care Newsletters: January/February 2003.
It is in PDF form, so takes a while to load and you have to have Adobe Acrobat Reader in your computer. It took about 5 minutes for mine to load. I have dial-up.
