In spite of our house fire and other stress factures last week my husband still had his colonoscopy on Tuesday. He had already gotten his INR to 2.5 and we were getting it done no matter what was going on. He had 5 polyps removed from the lower colon. We are waiting for the test results but the doctor said they were small. There was no excess bleeding at all. He went back on his regular coumadin schedule that night. The doctor said if he had any heavy bleeding to come back to the hospital. He had no bleeding. When the doctor went to shake my hand after the procedure I told him no I wanted a hug. I was so thankful he did the test with him on the coumadin and everything went smoothly. They did start the IV antibiotics 30 minutes before the procedure.
