This has been a VERY long day! Just got home a bit ago. Arrived at UAB at 6:10 AM and Noel was not taken back to surgery until 3:00...to say he was antsy is putting it mildly.:) Actually Dr. McGiffin did not have to remove a wire..it was not the problem...a suture seems to have caused a hole that had not healed and he didn't have near as much opening up to do...just cleaned it out some...said it was looking good, just finish the antibiotics and we don't even have to go back for follow-up visit. Now we just need to get the INR back up and checked on Monday. One male nurse in the recovery room came by and said "man he looks familiar"... and I said "well he should...he was just here about 2 months ago"...then he remembered. Of course Noel is complaining about the yellow suntan again and no shower for 48 hours...he hates the make-do things....:) but he is fine.

Good news, Robbie- please give our best to Noel and we hope it is all smooth sailing from here.

Glad it turned out to not be such as big a procedure. Best wishes.

I know UAB is a busy hospital, but all day waiting is unsatisfactory. Glad to know that all is taken care of satisfactorily and you don't have to go back. Blessins......

Good news, indeed :).

Thanks for sharing with us. Thoughts/prayers for a continued successful recovery!
