I understand your concern. I had MV Replacement 5 years ago, and my Tricuspid has worsened from mild regurg to moderate in 3 months. I "Googled" tricuspid problems following mitral valve replacement and had several articles pop up. The articles/studies described the likelihood of developing tricuspid problems late after successful mitral valve surgery so much, that the tricuspid valve should have preventive work done on it as well during the initial mitral valve surgery. This issue was never discussed with me prior to either one of my surgeries. "Poor outcome" and "high morbidity" were terms used to describe the future for people with severe tricuspid regurgitation/stenosis problems after successful mitral valve surgery. Like Renee suggested above, I keep my appointments with my doctor and follow his recommendations. During my next appointment, he will repeat the echo to see if my tricuspid measurements are any worse. If they are, he has told me that he is putting me on viagra!??? This really scares me so I am praying that my tricuspid valve remains the same and hasn't gotten any worse. Good luck, and keep us posted! Gail
