Dye

Does anyon have any information re; the die used in caths or the echos or the thallium tests? I would like to know now that they have been using these tests for some time...if any unknown side effects have crept up. Also woundering what damages may have been done with those dies.

Recently I was to have a test using a dye, but they didn't do it because I hadn't had the blood tests required before this test. They did ask me if I was allergic to iodine, tho - regarding this dye. When my Joe had a MRI or CT SCAN, he also was asked about iodine allergy, but don't know if this is the same dye you speak of - but it likely is. Somebody else might know. They did said that if I was allergic to it, there could be some bad side effects.

Have any idea what they use as a subsitution when you are allergic and require the contrast?

They didn't tell me there was one - just that if allergic to the dye, they would not do the test.
