I saw a neurologist a few weeks ago for an EMG...to find out why my hand had been tingling....Received the statement today...$1,737.00 Office consultion..$104.00....( he asked me Why are you here?)EMG 1 extremity...$190.00.....13...Nerve conduction w/o F W..$90.00 each..... 1 nerve conduction F Wave..$120.00.....3 Nerve Conduction at $78.00 each...Total..$1,737.00....Took all of 20 minutes...He said, I don't think you have Carpal tunnel..You might have a pinched nerve in your neck....Goodbye..........Orthopaedic read his results to me the following Monday..Same thing..We decided not to do any furthur tests..and for me to come back in a month.....Tingling is going away LITTLE by LITTLE each day... all started about 7 weeks ago..with slight pain in lower arm.. the only reason I went to orth..he sent me to the Neurologist... I think this is outrageous..for 1 test ( and it hurt. )..I haven't received a statement from the Orthpaedic..Saw him 3 times..for 5 minutes.....I suppose the arm brace he gave me will cost $1,000.. that I never wore...........I feel sorry for those without insurance.Medicare and Unitedhealth will have to pick up the tab..Sure I will have to pay some.....Just awful what these doctors are charging...
