1 Year ago today I was dealing with an Atlanta ice storm and AVR.
I'm so glad it is over. Waiting really was the hardest part.

Grateful for the many blessings in disguise discovered on this fantastic journey.
I'm almost 40 lbs lighter than when I had surgery and am probably healthier than I have been in years.

Looking forward to celebrating another year of life and health.

Thanks to everyone on this site for the support!

I remember that storm well, wow. As if it's not stressful enough in Atlanta trying to make your way anywhere in snow and ice, you decided to add AVR to the mix? :)

Congratulations on 1 year and good health.

Yep-- The hospital called the day before to see if I was going to be able to get there. I said "more importantly, will my surgeon be there 'cause I don't want a substitute?" Apparently in weather like that the hospital staff stays at the hospital and at a nearby hotel. I made it there that night and spent the night at a nearby hotel. But the parking lot was a skating rink.
