5.5 INR antibiotics, continued infections... not sure what to do...

I haven't been much for posting, my continued battle with infections and pain have put me in mental state far from what I'd like everyone to see me in. As some of you already know, I had a hysterectomy in late October, full abdominal. I had complications following the hysterectomy, a hematoma...

    PVC's

Last night my doctors nurse sent me to the hospital for an ECG after I spoke with her on the phone. Over the past several weeks I had been having strange palpitations several times a day... very strong, with the sensation of having the wind knocked out of me and my heart skipping a beat...

Complications, and concerns about my INR

I'm back, again. I was admitted back into the hospital last week, and sent home again on Friday. I had gone to my family doctors clinic on Tuesday complaining of extreme pain breathing, and a very specific spot under my right breast that was very sharp and shooting. No pain on palpation...

just got word that i'm to go in for pre-op on wednesday, the 18th, and my surgery is going to be on thursday or friday, as long as i don't get bumped by someone tomorrow. apparently the surgery dates aren't written in stone here because of the shortage of hospital beds. the surgeon had wanted...

    rediagnosis after TEE test

I was back in to see my cardiologist today... he had the results of the TEE test I had on Dec 23rd. He said my aortic valve is not bicuspid, but it has a leaflet that has prolapsed. He thinks the way the blood is regurgitating has caused them to underestimate the amount of regurgitation. He...

    T.E.E. Test next week

Thank you so much Deano89 for telling about your experience with the Tee... I am most definitely going to make sure I'm sedated! The soonest I was originally able to get an appointment for a Tee test was the end of January... the cardiologist wasn't happy with that since they're still talking...

    Woodbutcher out of surgery

I just got off the phone with Justin (Woodbutcher) and he is recovering wonderfully. His surgery was a success, and he sounds in great spirits. They're keeping him very comfortable with those wonderful painkillers they have, athough he says he's feeling more like he's been hit by a truck then...

    repair or replacement?

I saw my new cardiologist yesterday, and he is sending me for a Tee test. He said the main purpose for that is to determine if I should have replacement or repair to my BAV. He seems to lean towards repair. I can't seem to find a lot on here about this... Anyone else that has faced this option...

    Taken off Work

I went to see my family doctor today. I had missed work yesterday... too tired and I know my focus is off. I just can't keep up, and when I get home I'm so exhausted I just want to fall onto the couch and sleep. I have a heavy workload with no help, and I need to be focused, which I'm not. My...

Newly diagnosed BAV- surgery very soon- completely in shock...

I?m an active, healthy 43 yr old woman, and I was diagnosed this week with a bicuspid aortic valve. A month ago I was in the emergency department for a completely unrelated issue when the doctor there told me he?d found a very loud murmur and was referring me over to a cardiologist. Within...
