    what companies supply test strips?

I am "dealing" with phillips, and it's going bad. Apparently my insurance plan changed last year and they didn't pay for my last 2 orders of test strips. They are billing under the code "A9999" misc dme test materials. The code "G0249" is the code for test strips. They refuse to budge unless I...

verified inratio2 with lab. Not happy with results!

In the year or so that I have had my Inratio2, I have never went to the lab and verified the readings. So, a culmination of different things happened last week along with a lab to verify my INR. My cardio gets me to do a lab every 3 or 4 months to see how things were going. In this case bad...

The INR ratio, What is the denominator?

I have my inRatio2 and when I test, I have both the INR and the PT displayed as a result. To get the INR it looks like the machine is dividing by 10 and rounding up or down. So a PT of 26.2 gives me an INR of 2.6, a PT of 22.7 gives me an INR of 2.3. According to my last Vein draw, the PT was...

anyone have to get their INR checked in a lab every 3 months?

This is a requirement my cardio has come up with. They say they get audited and as I own my monitor, I have to get it checked every 3 months by a lab. Does this sound weird?

    Different INR manager, different style?

I purchased my Inratio2 about 2 months ago, and my INR has been fine until last week, it dipped to 1.8. When I purchased my monitor I an now managed by a differnt organization, it changed from the local hospital clinic, to my cardio's office. I was on a dose of S-2.5mg M-5mg T-2.5mg W-2.5mg...

What time of day to test? Does it matter?

I was wondering what time of day everyone tests, or what time would you recommend. I have always been testing in the morning, but with my work schedule, I would like to test in the evening. I also take my warfarin in the evening. I'm coming up on my first solo home test.

My dad has to have a heart cath.

My Dad has been mildly short of breath for a while, and he finally went to see his cardio last Friday and is going in for a heart cath, and then a dye analysis scheduled for this Thursday and Friday. My parents live in rural Nova Scotia so they have to travel to get to the hospital. The good...

    Inr 1.4 !!??

So, I totally screwed up and missed 2 days of warfarin and my INR is at 1.4. I have to go back and get rechecked on Monday, but is it advisable to let the increased dosage do its work, or get some Lovenox in the interum?

    pericarditis? Anyone had it?

I'm feeling off, I have an appointment on wed with my cardio. I had a low grade fever, my valve just does not sound right, slight chest pain, sore muscles, and I can feel my heart thumping. Its like it is hitting harder than it should.

st. jude seems louder than normal.

My cardio switched me from toporol to carvedilol, and my heart seems to be beating harder, and my valve is louder. It seems I can feel it more. But if I take a deep breath, the clicks get softer. My BP hasn't changed any, its good at 115/72 ish with a heart rate in the 65-70 range. Also, I used...

    Six flags

I know this is a bit light hearted, no pun intended, but I'm going to Six Flags this evening with the family. I had AVR but no other heart blockages, no heart attack, no nothing. Do I have a heart condition? I got it fixed, so I think I don't, sort off. I want to ride the rides!

here I am, flaming shirt and all

Just to prove I am a valver, here is my scar. Funny looking at it in a picture, I'm used to looking at it in a mirror and it looks like the slant is going the wrong way. The surgeon was a little upset that it was crooked, but I told him my nipples are lined up better if that any consolation.

Hi, I'm new. I had my aortic valve and root replaced on March 13th and am just getting back to work (ugg!). Everything has gone well and the warfarin hasn't bothered me any, except I crave cheese :D. I did have one setback that was a buildup of fluid around my heart. I went into the hospital...
