Echocardiogram Report - Help me Understand

I'm embarrassed to admit that I don't understand what is "normal" for peak and gradient. Two years post aortic valve replacement (carbon) my peak gradient is 50 mmHg and mean is 30 mmHg. I've tried reading about it on the internet, but feeling a bit dense.

I had surgery 8 months ago and one of my wires where it is knotted it poking at my skin just waiting for it to cut. I have 4 more that are starting to poke out and it was suggested to me by my cardiologist that I need to be prepared to have them surgically removed. Trying to find info on what...

time to restore heart rate and blood pressure

Heart rate stays around 90 for me and easily goes up. Rehab, Primary Care, Surgeon and Cardiologist don't seem too worried about it so I guess I won't worry either. 14 weeks post surgery

Dr Says its Time for AVR

I was supposed to have the mini, but my heart didn't restart so I got the full strenotomy. I would want the most experienced surgeon with the best outcomes no matter how far I had to drive. You only have to make the trip twice and then your local cardiologist is who you see. I drove 2 hours to...

I've had my on x valve for 13 weeks. Initially it bothered me if I tried to go to sleep on my side. Now I rarely hear it.

I'm jumping in the pool! How's the water?

It's ok to be scared. Open heart surgery is a big deal. I am 57 and had my aortic valve replaced 10 weeks ago. My heart would not restart for 30 minutes. Never expected that as I jazzercized three days per week, walk 5 golden retrievers everyday, ride my bike, etc and was in great shape. I, too...

Well, you are a mess aren't you woman?! I have absolutely been as frightened as you as I had never had surgery before, am terrified of doctors and had my aortic valve replaced 9 weeks ago. It's no longer an option once it starts impacting your life as much as it is yours. While there is not...

Second Surgery Risks - Mechanical Valve

Just saw my cardiologist as I'm 9 weeks out with my On X mechanical valve. Sent me down to get a base line echo according to him, "to compare for the rest of my life." He said his experience with mechanical valves is they last a lifetime. I"m 57 and had a stenotic bicuspid valve replaced.
