    no blood thinners for me???

Just a thought here for our original poster. You may have already had a stroke. You seem to be missing a very important bit of your life's information here. Are you "missing" other critical parts of your memory? Do you have any other people in your life that may be of help?

    Any guitar players?

Well I can't pass that one up. I started picking up my guitars about a month after my surgery. I was laid off my job last December and opened my shop www.seattleguitarstore.com in August. I now own over 100 guitars 50 amplifiers and about 70 ukuleles.

    One down on #2.

Well, a year ago we packed up the car and drove to Tacoma for the surgery. I can not believe it. I have lived through two open heart surgeries in this lifetime and feel normal. Thank you all for your support. This forum made this so much easier for me and my family. Thank my surgical team, and...

    Aspirin part two

I take an 81mg along with Plavix instead of Warafin. I asked my Cardio why they suggested that. She said "I don't know, they do that sometimes. Just take it." Cardios and surgeons don't seem to talk to each other much.

Indoor on a treadmill. Heart rate average 148 with no struggle. Last year at this time I had trouble with stairs. I have gotten more support than I have given here. Doing it is my way of saying thank you.

    Laid off

http://www.insurance.wa.gov/consumers/health/preconditionplanwa/rates.shtml This is my solution. At $352 per month it is less than the COBRA plan by almost $200 and similar coverage. I do have to wait 6 months. Seeing that I am healthy as an ox and get free prescriptions from On-X I am willing...

    Laid off

My wifes insurance wants me to COBRA until her next open enrollment. I guess I will look for a job at Starbucks that will provide insurance but, pay less than unemployment..... All I know is that I am happy the new CEO could hire two of his cronies last week at over $500k each. I was worried...

    Laid off

Well the axe swung this week and it finally hit me. COBRA is half my unemployment. $500 per month. My unemployment was small because I missed 3 months of work last year getting a new valve.... Anyone find a better self insure deal out there? I am at the point where the money does not mean...

Just gonna say that I have a mechanical valve and am on the On-X study taking Plavix and Aspirin daily with no ill effects to report. As for the Aspirin only study....I heard they canceled that.....Germany......may or may not be true.....don't know.......
